Brownville - Kathleen Mary “Kathy” Mitchell, 67, of Brownville, Maine, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 17, 2026. Kathy was born on March 2, 1959, in Bay Shore, New York, to Helen Jordoe and Raymond Bond. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Mitchell, who passed away on March 16, 2008, and her cherished grandson, Cody Ray Mitchell. Kathy lived a full, adventurous, and exhilarating life — one filled with unforgettable stories, interesting adventures, and an array of jobs and experiences that reflected her curious and spirited nature. She had a remarkable ability to find joy in life and, more importantly, to bring that joy to the people around her. Kathy had a gift for making people smile, even in moments when they believed they couldn’t. Her sense of humor was one of the many things that made her unforgettable, and her laughter and personality could brighten even the darkest days. She also had a deeply creative spirit. Kathy loved arts and crafts and enjoyed expressing herself through writing poems, coloring, and countless other creative pursuits. In many ways, she did more than create art — she added color to the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Kathy was endlessly supportive of the people she loved and took genuine joy in their hobbies, dreams, and passions. If someone needed her, she never hesitated to open her arms and welcome them in. Her heart had room for everyone, and over the years she created a family that extended far beyond blood. She was a source of comfort, laughter, encouragement, and love—the glue that held so many people together. Her presence touched countless lives, and the memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Kathy is survived by her sons, Jeremie Mitchell and Gary Chapman Jr; her daughters, Florece Lalime and Dorothy Flick; her grandchildren, Cassandra Desiray, Ryan McIntosh, Michael Ouimette, Alex Chapman, Jason Ouimette, and Trinity Horton; and her great-grandchildren, Aleyah Mitchell, Auburn smith, Amelia Mitchell, Aurora Mitchell and Nikolai Horton. Though Kathy is no longer with us, the love, laughter, creativity, and color she brought into the world will remain. She leaves behind not only memories, but pieces of herself in every person she loved and every life she touched. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
