To David's family,
So sorry to hear of David's passing. As one of the "kids" from the neighborhood (South St.) and an active participant of the seasonal sports played in the yards and driveways or Tobey's field, I considered David one of my closest friends from youth to adulthood.
I am pleased to hear of the happiness returned to David's life in the recent past. One of the miscues of life is the lost contacts with those that effected us as youths. My remembrances of the days spent together are shear treasures.
My love to friends & family
Jon

Dave was always a hero of mine. Larger than life in so many ways. To say he was born with the gift of gab doesn’t do him justice. My favorite stories of his were always ones on The Beatles or Bob Dylan and of course the occasional celebrity or athlete that stopped into Bean over the years. His laughter was infectious and I’d be hard pressed to remember a time I wasn’t laughing around Dave. He brought so much joy and laughter to all who knew him and I truly feel blessed to have known Dave. Dave’s stories and quips will always live on in my heart. I can still hear him in all the music he brought into my life along with the all stories behind the songs. I’ll forever remember Dave as the master raconteur that he was.

So many memories of the little boy across the street. There were always enough kids in the neighborhood to play with. Being older, I became the neighbor babysitter. We all grew and moved and became busy in our lives. I will remember Dave. Hugs to Jen and Dave’s family. Your loss is shared by many.

So sorry to hear of David's passing. His mother was a babysitter to me when I was young and I was a babysitter to Dave and Jen when they were little. They lived across the street from me. The families on that street (Woodbury) spent a lot of time together at numerous cookouts, joining each other at the holidays.. Those are times one never forgets. We all grew up and went our separate ways. Our parents have all passed and now this generation is losing their children. My thoughts are with Jen and David's extended family.

DM was a classic and will be missed by many. Will always fondly remember our battles on the links for The Book. He had a heart of gold. I wish you all peace and good memories.

So many stories of working with Dave, many still bring tears of joy decades hence. Once when we were fishing on the Magalloway, I heard Dave yell. Looking upstream, there stood Dave, holding a giant salmon about head high. Having none of it, the salmon proceeded to slap Dave across his face repeatedly with its tailfin, until Dave let go and the fish swam to safety. We laughed about it then and every time we saw each other over the years.
One of my greatest joys at LLB was working with Dave. He was one of a kind.
Thank you, my friend.

My heart aches for all who were lucky to have Dave as family and a friend and classmate!! He is well remembered as a well versed sports figure on the baseball mound, as well as on the basketball court in high school! I remember our 20th class reunion and I told him, he looked so different, he was so surprised to hear that and I told him he looked soo good more filled out than as a skinny classmate.. he and I had a good laugh. Unfortunately I had not seen him since but also remember many times being at his parent’s house with his cousin Becky as we were growing up. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!! My heart is broken . David was my cousin and my friend . We certainly spent many many times together during the school years.
A picture from what I believe may have been near the beginning of school in 1963.
