Jackie was my best friend. I will greatly miss her.
There are plenty of good memories even of our last phone call a few weeks ago. She was in the hospital and concerned for Ron since he was alone at home.
But the memories I have area of coffee in the mornings while playing scrabble. A weekly trip to Bangor and Lunch. Going to the Town Hall meeting, With our husbands on the road it was just us. So we made the best of it and keep our brains working.
Jackie would tell me of her family. The loss of her daughter in Jan 2012 was horrible to her. But Lynn ended up being buried in a spot next to where Ron and Jackie got there spots.
Jackie would go have coffee and chat with Lynn while sitting on her flat topped stone. She missed those quiet times.
Her and Ron moved to Florida for warmer weather , and they did enjoy there time there. She was closer to her 2 grand daughters Marie and Kristie (who Jackie filled in for their mother Lynn since her passing)..
She recently mentioned that she became a great grandmother again. I do not remember what number that was. But she was thrilled about the new addition to the family. She spoke about her 2 son's and their families. Her large family that was dwindling down. But even with all there there was plenty of sharing stories about growing up, going to school. Being on the road traveling.
We talked until the phone ran out of juice and then laughed and hearing Jackie say. I am so glad you called, You make me laugh and it make me feel good. I will miss you Jackie and my thought are with Ron
