Al was my favorite uncle. I remember him dropping by my childhood home in West Charleston on his way home from work at Guilford Indus. He was always happy & would share his happiness with me & my younger siblings as he teased us & our mother. Sometimes he played board games & Rummy with us. Years later “Unc” did some carpentry projects on my High St, Guilford home, always doing a fabulous job @ a good price. I will miss his kind smile & soft words of advice & acceptance. He made his family proud.

Like so many, Our family was better for knowing Al. He was always so helpful, and a friend from the minute he said hello. He never failed to remind me to be humble when I needed a reminder.

Ev and family,
Al was such an incredible man, so much talent. If anyone needed a carpenter, he was the first one that came to mind. My deepest sympathies to you and families during this difficult time.

Al, I am ever so thankful I stopped and chatted with you when you were out in your beautiful garden. A memory among many others with you & Bev that I will keep forever in my heart. I've known you for a little more than 40 years. You will be missed by everyone. You were always smiling and an absolute wonderful person. Bev & family, I'm so sad to be reading this. Thinking of you and sending hugs & prayers to you all. Love, Misty Hall Lary

The first time I met Al, I was a very young boy living with my mother, brother and sister in Guilford, Me. We were living in a trailer and the heat had gone out in the middle of winter. I remember it was getting very cold and that Al had come over and tried to fix the furnace, but it wasn't going to happen. He took us to his house, and we stayed the night. Its moments like this that remind me to help others whenever I can.
