Obituary of Clarence R. Cook
Dover-Foxcroft – Clarence R. Cook, 79, passed away peacefully February 8, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born January 1, 1943, in Bangor, the son of Clarence A. and Geraldine (Reaviel) Cook. After his mother passed away when he was three, he was raised by his father and Eleanor Wharff, who loved him as if he was her own.
After graduating from Foxcroft Academy in 1963, he then graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. He served in law enforcement for 27 years and was on the Dover-Foxcroft Fire Department for 23 years. He also worked for the Maine Department of Transportation for seven years. Clarence loved hunting, fishing and camping, especially at Square Lake and Harlow Pond. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and chatting on Facebook with many friends.
Clarence is survived by the love of his life, Gloria, to whom he was married for 58 years. He also leaves a son, Troy, and a daughter, Cheryl and her husband, Kevin Mayo; grandchildren, Steven, Megan, Gaven, Kiya and Alli; great-grandchildren, Keagan, Jacob, and Brody. He will be remembered by many wonderful friends. He was predeceased by his parents and a grandson, Ryan Mayo.
