Guilford – Marion R. Lovell, 102, passed away February 23, 2022, at Hilltop Manor, Dover- Foxcroft. She was born March 3, 1919, the daughter of Charles and Eva (Oakes) Ridley. Marion worked for many years as a dental assistant, jewelry store clerk, clerk for dry cleaners and Treworgy’s in Guilford. She had a great love of nature and animals, especially for her cat Smokey. She loved to read, sew, knit and fish. She was also a lover of poetry and has written many poems. Her poems have been published in the Bangor Daily News, Chieftan Magazine and in The Poetry Digest 1942. Marion is survived by her son, Barry Lovell and his wife, Jo-Ann; grandchildren, Stephen Lovell and Stephanie Lovell and her husband, Josh; and six great-grandchildren, Geralyn, Chesley, and Tylan, Ross, Dylan, and Matthew. She was predeceased by her husband, Chesley Lovell; two brothers, Kenneth and Maynard Ridley; and sister, Dorothy Crosby. There will be no services at this time per Marion's request. Burial will be beside her husband, Chesley, in the spring at the Village Cemetery in Abbot. In lieu of flowers, dontations may be made to the Guilford Fire Department, 4 School St, Guilford, ME 04443. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
