Obituary of William Patrick Hurley
Dinuba, CA and Milo – William Patrick Hurley was born October 17, 1948, in Augusta, ME. Known as Bill by just about everyone who knew him, Bill was fond of saying that he lived three lifetimes in the span of one. He often said that he spent time on both sides of the line between good and bad, before settling down with Debbie Febres, his best friend, co-worker, and wife of fifteen years.
During his life, Bill was a jack-of-all trades and worked in a variety of fields. To list a few: he was an entrepreneur, a stuntman, skydiving school owner and instructor, an auto mechanic, a long-haul trucker, an amateur actor, a personal trainer and body builder, a dance instructor for Arthur Murray studios, and an Olympic qualified gymnast and coach.
Bill earned six degrees in vastly different fields from art to nursing. Ultimately, Bill worked as a Registered Nurse for over thirty-five years. Bill worked all over Central Valley and trained countless generations of California nurses. He ended his career in Adventist Health Selma where he has worked for the last 13 years.
Apart from his wife, Debbie, Bill’s true love was riding various Harley Davidson motorcycles for over fifty years, some of which he built by hand. Bill and Debbie traveled all over the country on their way to their second home in Maine on various road trips by both car and motorcycle during their time together.
Bill passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in his home in Dinuba, CA. Bill’s final resting place will be in his small hometown of Milo, ME, where he was in the high schools first graduating class in 1969.
Bill is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Debbie; his daughters, Elizabeth, Ingrid, and Cassandra; his sisters, Kim and Bonnie; several nieces and nephews and his three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Special Olympics be made in his name. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
