Obituary of Angela J. Hovencamp

Dover-Foxcroft – Angela J. Hovencamp passed away May 3, 2022, unexpectedly at home at age 84. She was one of eleven children, born in Middletown, N.Y. in 1938, to Antonio and Anna Deserto. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1956 and worked as a bookkeeper for the A&P Supermarket Company to help support her parents. Angie met her husband, Russell, through her brother, Joseph. They were married in 1962 and had 59 wonderful years together until her passing. She could do just about anything and was a natural leader as well as caregiver. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout troop leader and volunteered extensively at school functions. Dependable and compassionate, she was always ready to help a neighbor, person, or group in need. No matter the challenge, she was always someone her family, friends, or neighbors could count upon to see a matter through to fruition. Angie was fondly regarded and respected by numerous teachers, coaches, principals, as well as peers. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom and faithful instructions on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also praises her. Many women do noble things but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:25-29. Angie is survived by her husband, Russell, and their six children: Mary-Ann, Linda, Ethel, Paul, David, and Beth. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ruth. She loved us all. We will love her always and forever. There will be no services at this time. Condolences may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
