Obituary of Thelma E. McCaffrey

Please share a memory of Thelma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dover-Foxcroft - The spark and wit of Thelma E. (Peirce) McCaffrey was set free to join her husband, William “Bill”; grandson, Jason; and other relatives and friends on May 13, 2022. She was loved by her children, Cheryl McCaffrey, William M. “Billy” McCaffrey, Charles “Chuck” McCaffrey, and Shawna Musser; her six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many friends and other relatives including her sisters, Nellie May (Blake) and Dorothy (Tibbetts). Until going to Maine in 2020, Thelma was a life-long East Tauntonian and 1943 graduate of Taunton High School in Taunton, MA. She was a charter member (1950) of the Taunton (-Raynham)Junior Woman’s Club and continued as an honorary member (“ 'Onery' Junior”) until her death. She was an artist and active member of the Taunton Art Association and Dighton Garden Club. Thelma enjoyed meeting people "as they are" and treated them all as friends, "I just LIKE people." She always had an open door and an off-hand comment delivered with a sparkle in her eye. Her friends and relatives are invited to join her family in a time of memories on October 14, 2022 at 10:30 am at Christ Community Church North Campus in Whittenton (265 W. Brittania St., Taunton, Massachusetts). Refreshments to follow. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Thelma requested donations be made to the Taunton Art Association, 42 Williams St., Taunton, MA 02780. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
