Dover-Foxcroft- George A. Gifford, 84, husband of Dona M. (Perham) Gifford, passed away peacefully October 27, 2016, at his home with family by his side. He was born June 30, 1932, in Albany, NY, the son of Ami G. and Virginia R. (Edmonds) Gifford. George will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and devoted minister. He was a past minister of the United Baptist Church in Milo, Charleston, and Little Falls, Gorham. In addition to his loving wife, Dona, George is survived by his son, Dennis Gifford and his wife, Virginia; his daughter, Joyce Simpson and her husband, Bob; his four grandsons, Jadon and Jesse Gifford, and Christopher Simpson and his wife, Eileen, and their daughter, Isabella; and Nathaniel Simpson; and his brother, Walter Gifford and his wife, Doris. He was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Harold and Jerry Gifford. A funeral service was conducted 4pm Sunday October 30, 2016, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Pastor Phil McGlauflin officiating.
