Obituary of Alan Craig Schultz
Monroe - Alan Craig Schultz, 77, long-time resident of Monroe, passed away peacefully January 8, 2023, at the Sussman House in Rockport. Alan was born November 22, 1945, in Dexter, the son of the late Sieferd B. Schultz and Ruth (Monroe) Schultz. Alan grew up in Guilford, Sangerville, and Wallingford, CT. He was a long-time employee as printing foreman at Shore Line Times Company, publishers of the Wallingford Post. He was a member of the Moose Club in Wallingford, CT, an organization that raises funds for children and those in need in the community. He moved his family back to Maine in 1978, and was employed at Pride's Manufacturing Company in Burnham and Robbins Lumber in Searsmont. He was a fine woodworking craftsman, eventually building his own home in Monroe. Alan was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping, and especially enjoyed the cross country trips to the western states with his brothers, Thayne and Sieferd. Alan enjoyed many heartfelt visits, spending time with family and friends in the past few years.
Alan is survived by son, Bruce Schultz; daughter, Erika Schultz; stepsons, Scott Chasse and wife, Heather, and Joseph Chasse; brother, Sieferd C. Schultz and wife, Madeline; sister-in-law, Georgia Schultz; nieces Charlene Lukasevics and husband, Chris, and their children, Abigail, Carter, and Matthew, and Melissa Espinosa and husband, Juan, and their children, Hunter and Logan; nieces, Cindy Woodworth and husband, Brian, Pami Hall, and Heidi Dellaire; and cousins, Kerry, Lance, Scott, Shawn, and Kyle Monroe and their families.
In addition to his parents, Alan was predeceased by his brother, Nolan Thayne Schultz; stepson, Allen C. Schultz; stepdaughter, Tami-Lynn Day; nephews, Alan T. Schultz and Scott R. Willey; cousins, Eric Nesbit and Dane Monroe; and grand-nephew Joshua Schwartz.
Thank you to Alan's Dr. Daphne Lang, oncology Dr. Singrid Berg, Oncology Social Services-Claudia Hill at Waldo County General Hospital, emergency Dr. Beal at Waldo Hospital, Brooks EMS/Ambulance-Ken Clements, Town of Monroe Sherriff's Dept., staff at Sussman House in Rockport-Kate, Cathy, Millie, Sue, and Mary Therese, and caring friends Donna & Butch Ward and John & Kathy McAvey. Thank you all for your help and care. A special thank you goes to Alan's special son, Scott Chasse, for being by his side during his stay at Sussman House.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Lary Funeral Home, 62 Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft, with Pastor David Mumford of Dover-Foxcroft officiating. A spring burial will be in the Sangerville Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital - www.stjude.org.
