Don was great meeting him at the YMCA, in the pool and the weight room, as he had a laugh and talked easily with many. Sorry with the loss of Don.

Deepest sympathies to the children, family and friends for their sad loss.
You could sit on the front porch with your friend Don Brown and be comfortable knowing there would never be a harsh or cynical word from his mouth or ill will in his heart because the smile on his face was a reflection of the pure and rare spirit in his heart.
Don and I could banter back and forth for hours at a time laughing at ourselves and each other over the activities we shared in the gym, swimming pool and motorcycle riding. There were a lot of things he could share, like pride of family, military service, the family garden or pictures on the wall, but never with a notion of conceit or vanity; a rare character trait rarely found in any of us. He knew who he was and what he believed and that enabled him to suffer a prank or joke at his own expense. He could laugh at himself and dish it back with good spirit without rancor. A rare human being and role model for all of us who knew him. We need more like him in our times.
It’s hard to believe or accept that he is gone so suddenly. Seeing him just a few days before he passed I know his wonderful spirit was with him in his last hours. The world is greatly diminished now that he is gone but hundreds of people have absorbed his kindness and goodness so that his spirit will live on for many years to come and the world is a better place for his presence. He has surely gone to a better place.
As we say in the Navy old soldier, my friend “fair winds and following seas.” ⚓️

Grampy,
Since the first day we meet I have loved you! As a child I remember long visits of cups of coffee, watching the news, wrestling, old western shows and even little laughs about you taking little cat naps in your comfy chair. Gram Carole and you was always at ball games, birthdays, graduations, and much more! I’m gonna miss all the warm hugs, the laughs, the I love you’s, and a smile so bright that it would light up the darkest room! I’m so blessed to call you my grandfather! I love you so much grampy!
