Guilford - David E. Fairbrother, 67, died May 16, 2023, at Eastside Center for Health & Rehabilitation, Bangor. He was born February 5, 1956 in Guilford, the son of Roy and Barbara (Leighton) Fairbrother. He graduated EMVTI in 1976 as an automotive specialist. He was an avid race car enthusiast as a mechanic, a driver and a watcher. He started out winning trophies as a drag car racer. He also drove a car on the oval track and helped friends as a mechanic on their cars. He enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter months with his friend, Jeff Moody, and others and belonged to the Four Winds Snowmobile Club in Guilford. He was a Past Master of the Mount Kineo Lodge #0109 and long-time Bingo caller at the Guilford Masonic Lodge building. He is survived by three sisters and their husbands: Judy and Charlie Dunehew of Illinois, Kathy and Larry Stoddard of Scarborough, and Sandy and Rod Ayers of Rhode Island. He leaves two nephews, Bruce Dunehew and wife, Jacqueline, of North Carolina, Joshua Ayers and wife, Leslie, of Wells; and three nieces, Allyson Ayers of Rhode Island, Kimberley Stoddard of Westbrook and Stephanie Stoddard of Standish. A graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, June 19, 2023, at Lawn Cemetery in Guilford. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
