Abbot - Linwood B Neal, 76, passed away June 7, 2023, at Northern Light Hospital, Bangor, after a short illness. Lennie was born September 27, 1946, in Hartland, the son of Pearly and Violet (Hamilton) Neal. Lennie comes from a large family and is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Marjorie (Libby); 4 children that adored him, daughters, Angela and husband, Arnold Graham, Terri and husband, Justin LaForge, Tina and her husband, Stephen Larrabee, and son, Joe Noyes; 5 brothers, Aaron, Victor, Galen, Robert, and Clayton; 4 sisters, Judy, Deatra, Darla, and Erica; 10 grandchildren, Stephen, Michael, Phillip, AJ, Aaron, Sebastian, Noah, Josie, Mitchell, and Kaden; and 12 great-grandchildren, Nyla, Kade, Lana, Legion, Lilly, Abigail, Gabriella, Ronan, Ethan, Artemis, MJ, and Madilyn. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Pearly and Violet as well as siblings, Pearly, Arlo, Amelia, Donna, and Dennis.
Lennie was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and camping. Over the years, he enjoyed long road trips with his wife to Alaska, Colorado, Florida and most recently to North Carolina to attend a grandson's wedding. He worked hard making a living for his family as a sawmill equipment operator, mechanic at Dexter Shoe and at Hardwood Products over the years. He served in the US Army during VietNam, then many years in the 187th Infantry Brigade, Dexter, Maine Army Reserves.
After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He created many wonderful gifts, from birdhouses to pantry cabinets for his family members over the years. Lennie would drop everything to go help a neighbor. He enjoyed sharing his love for the great outdoors with all his children and grandchildren. He especially loved his years hosting at Cowans Cove, Moosehead Lake, and fishing with his "adopted daughter" Barb on the lake.
Linwood touched so many hearts and will be missed greatly. His family will cherish every memory and hope that you can join us at the Abbot Town Hall on June 24th, at 12 noon to celebrate his life.
