Obituary of Freeman Edward Cromwell
Monson – Freeman Edward Cromwell, 74, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, at home in Monson. He was the husband of Gayle Szafasz-Cromwell of East Brunswick, NJ and Monson. Freeman married Gayle, the “woman of his dreams” and they were very much in love with each other. They had a “perfect wedding”, like in a “fairy tale”, Prince Charming and Cinderella, with a lot of passion together! He married Gayle in 2021, whom he “adored” for 31 years. He was the “cat with 90 lives” and lived to tell about it. Truly a miracle man! Born a comedian and story teller he loved to insult people and make them laugh, or cry.
His occupation was a trucker and he enjoyed it.
He was born October 18, 1948, to parents, Chet and Dorothy Cromwell of Skowhegan and he grew up there.
Freeman had “adopted children”, Taddy, Junie, Christy and Cody, and 2 beloved grandchildren, Cameron “Cat Man” and Christy “Angel”.
He liked listening to country music all the time. He was an “artist” at upholstering furniture and welding.
He had a special “brother-like” friend, Spud, whom he missed a lot as he had passed on. In addition, he had a special sister, Ginny and her husband.
There was never a “dull moment” with this man, who was like a “kid” who never grew up or aged.
There are numerous people that he liked, Joyce and Richard, Damon and Angela, Carroll and Carrie Jones, Roland and R.J. King, Mike Perkins, Chris and Jessie, Henry, and a zillion others. A very special thank you is extended to Roger Burton and his wife, Sandy, and to Floyd "Smokey" Burton, and to Mary Shapleigh of the P.E.T.S. program, for all their help.
His dedicated wife, Gayle, was always at his side, taking care of him right until the end, with love. May God be with you Freeman.
A tribute to Freeman’s life will be held at a later date, with his wife, Gayle, in Monson. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
