Obituary of Ann Marie Chase
Dover-Foxcroft - Ann Marie Chase, 79, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, with her family at her side after a brief illness. Ann was born on February 2, 1944, in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Burke) Dunphy. Ann was the oldest of nine children and was predeceased by sister, Virginia St. Ives and brothers, James B. Dunphy and Robert B. Dunphy. She is survived by her four children, daughter, Carolyn Hall and husband, Stephen of Winslow, ME; son, Charles “Chuck” Chase of Dover-Foxcroft, ME; son, William Chase and wife, Tammy of Vassalboro, ME; and son, Michael Chase and wife, Julie of Guilford, ME; eight grandchildren Matthew, Derek, Travis, Katelyn, Connor, Taylar, Loren, and Chelsea; seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Hunter, Fisher, Elijah, Hazel, Timber, and Jireh; three brothers, John Dunphy, Paul Dunphy, and Gregory Dunphy; two sisters, Rosemary MacDonald and Eileen Meuse; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
After high school Ann married and became a stay at home mom raising four children until the 1980s. It was then she got her CNA certification as well as her Med Tech certification. She then went on to work at Hibbard’s Nursing Home where she remained for approximately 32 years until her retirement. Following retirement Ann enjoyed spending time with her “Hibbard’s Crew”.
Ann loved watching sports, especially her tennis and golf. Ann also enjoyed knitting sweaters, blankets, and much more for her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Northern Light Mayo Hospital for all the great care they provided.
At Ann’s request there will be no public services. Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to Penquis, PO Box 1162, Bangor, ME 04401. This organization’s mission statement is to assist individuals and families in preventing, reducing, or eliminating poverty in their lives. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
