Dover-Foxcroft - Ralph “Eddie” Lewis, 80, passed away at home on August 29, 2023. He was born June 11, 1943, in Skowhegan. He was the son of Harold A.O. Lewis and Odile “Jeannette” (St. Germain) Lewis. Edward graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 1962. He served in the U.S. Army and also in the Reserves for a total of 8 years. During the years he worked at Guilford Woolen Mill and Judkins Shop and Save, he made many, many friends. Hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes. Ed served on the Dover-Foxcroft Fire Department, and was involved for over 50 years. He was extremely dedicated to his service with the fire department. He was a member of the Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis and was a huge part of the Kiwanis Auction for many years. Ed proudly was a member of the Piscataquis Valley Fair Association for just as many if not more years. He would say, “While many did a lot of talking, I did a lot of working.” He is survived by his children, David (Kathi), Linus (Karrie), and Donna (Butch); his grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley), Genevieve (Kasey), Garrett, Jada, Kera, Sara (Ron), Kate, Alan, and Bailey; his great-grandchildren, Abigail, Eliana, Becca, Blakely, Kaleb, Brayden, and Harper Lynne; his siblings, Charlene and Clarence (CC); many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his very special friends, Joe Guyotte and Gary Sudsbury, along with his fire department and fair association families. He was predeceased by his parents, his grandson, Michael Lewis, and his siblings, Lena, Harold Jr., Jeannette, Hubert Sr., and Betty-Lou. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dover-Foxcroft Fire Department, 48 Morton Avenue, Suite A, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. Interment will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter privately for family. A celebration of life potluck will be held 12 Noon Saturday, at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds, Dover-Foxcroft. Poppa left this world as he lived...on his own terms. An icon and hero to many, gone too soon.
