Guilford – Marilyn R. Wharff, 91, passed away September 6, 2023, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born March 15, 1932, in Guilford, the daughter of Claire and Theresa (Shannon) LaBree. Marilyn is remembered as a wonderful, loving mother, and a “beast of a woman”. She was a very talented seamstress, cook, baker, and caterer. She worked many jobs including 10 years in the laundry department at Mayo Hospital. Marilyn was most proud to own and operate Dover Stove with her husband, Don. Marilyn is survived by her five children, Debbie Tozier and her husband, Thomas, Sharon McKenney and her husband, Larry, Wesley Wharff and his wife, Janis, Brian Wharff and his wife, Laurie, and Lori Armstrong and her husband, Ralph; brother, Robert LaBree and his wife, Sharon; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A private family graveside service will be held in the Lawn Cemetery, Guilford. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
