Obituary of Anita Eberbach Stuart Jones
Dover-Foxcroft and Portland - Anita Marie Eberbach Stuart Jones, 80, died in Portland on September 15, 2023. She was born July 30, 1943, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Reverend Werner and Anna Gehrung Eberbach.
Anita attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, New Jersey. She was a cheerleader during her high school years. She was an enthusiastic participant in many church and school activities. Her caring nature led her into nursing. She earned her RN at the Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ in 1967.
While living in New York and working at Lenox Hill Hospital she met and married Bill Stuart, a graphic artist, fine arts painter, and stone mason. Bill and Anita eventually made their home in White River Junction, VT. Their two sons, Brian and Toby, were born in Hanover, NH. Anita continued her work as an RN at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. The family moved west and after some years in Ashland, Oregon, they returned east to Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. It was there that Anita worked at Mayo Regional Hospital as an OR Recovery RN.
Later, after Bill passed away, Anita married Ken Jones and for several years they divided their time between Dover-Foxcroft and Brooksville, Florida. After Ken passed away, Anita moved to Gorham to be near her sons and grandchildren.
Anita was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Stuart and Ken Jones; and beloved nephews, Scott Eberbach, Todd Eberbach and Stephen Mohan; and sister-in-law, Jean Eberbach. She is survived by her siblings, Eduard Eberbach, Renate Victor and husband, Ron, Richard Eberbach and his wife, Linda; her son, Brian Stuart and his fiancé, Jasmine Smith, their children Ella and Calvin; her son, Toby Stuart; and many nieces and nephews.
