Obituary of Kenneth A. Tate
CORINTH – Kenneth (Kenny) A. Tate, 87, passed away on November 26, 2023 in Dover Foxcroft, ME with his loving wife, Beverly (Walker) Tate and family by his side. Kenny was born on September 6, 1936, the son of Harvard and Marguerite (Batchelder) Tate.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of Corinthian Lodge #59 I.O.O.F., Monroe I.O.O.F., Orono Lodge I.O.O.F. and a member of the Kenduskeag AM & FM Lodge.
Kenny was a graduate of East Corinth Academy Class of 1956 and was a National Honor Society student. Kenny was self employed and co-owner of Ken and Bev Tate’s Strawberry Farm aka Tate’s Strawberry Farm. Kenny was also a co-owner of Tate’s Bus Service with his wife, Beverly. Kenny drove school bus for 52 years and 14 days. In 2004 Kenny was nominated and was a finalist for the Bus Driver Excellence award that he was very proud to receive.
Kenny loved the outdoors, working in their strawberry fields and pumpkin fields, basketball and baseball, hunting and snowmobiling. His greatest enjoyments in life were watching his crops grow and working side by side with his wife and children in the family business.
Kenny was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife, Beverly, of 64 years, he is survived by four children, daughter, Nancy and husband, Chris Keane, of Charleston, son, Albert of Corinth, son, Donald and wife, Cheryl of Newport, daughter MaryAnn Tate of Skowhegan, ME. He is survived by six very special grandchildren Ashleigh and Nick Randall and their two daughters Addyson and Alayna, Jessica and Ray Hall and their two children Jacob and Rylee, Jessica and Mark Smith and their four children Eastyn, Kolsyn, Oaklyn, and Ezlyn, Wyatt, Madison, and Mackenzie Damon. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Lois Crane, Hildred Chesley, and Pearl Campbell. Several nieces and nephews and too many special friends to list.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Mildred Balthis, and Sandra Blackwell, brothers in law Wilbert Campbell and Alton Chesley.
Visiting hours will be held at United Methodist Church, Main St, Corinth on Thursday November 30 from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral Service will be on Saturday December 2 at the United Methodist Church, Main St, Corinth at 10AM. Family and friends are invited to gather after the service for refreshments at the church. Burial will be held in the spring at the Corinthian Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the United Methodist Church of Corinth or the Corinth Fire Department.
