Obituary of Roberta Doore Goodine
Atkinson – Roberta Doore Goodine, 81, wife of the late Owen P. Goodine, passed away January 13, 2024, at her home. She was born March 18, 1942, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Harold C. and Evelyn C. (Judkins) Doore.
Christmas was Roberta’s favorite time of the year. She would start buying in January picking up gifts and items to fill stockings for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and Owen. The stockings got bigger throughout the years ending up to be 3 feet tall. Family came first and there was never a birthday, anniversary, graduation that got by her. She was married 57 years to the love of her life celebrating their 25th and 50th with family and friends.
Roberta loved to cook and her cooking was amazing; making holidays special and delicious. She was a hard worker at all her jobs and everything she did; harvesting potatoes for Andrews Farms, working in the factory at Dexer Shoe, sewing from home and several years at Judkins Shop ‘N Save, where she made friends with many people within the community.
Roberta loved knitting for her grandchildren, new babies being born, baby clothes for the grandchildren’s dolls, and items made that she entered into the Piscataquis Valley Fair, which were mostly blue ribbons. For the past several years she also made homemade mittens for her granddaughter’s, Ashley Goodine, kindergarten students.
After her children were grown, she spent many days shopping, yardsaling, and traveling a few times to Florida with her sisters, Elaine and Dodie.
Roberta is survived by two sons, Tony and wife, Tami, and Todd and wife, Christine; daughter, Amy and fiancé, Thomas Hall; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Noke and husband, Luke, Tia Baxter and husband, Andrew, Ashley Goodine, Tristi Gould and companion, Patrick Daubenberger, Aaron Goodine, Branson Goodine and companion, Megan Fuller, Trevin Guyotte and companion, Ainsley Ade, and Jackson Goodine; 6 great-grandchildren, Clara, Avery, Blakely and Denver Noke, and Ayla and Bode Baxter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband, Owen, she was predeceased by her parents; her three siblings, Paul Doore, Elaine Doore, and Dolores Smith; and a special niece, Charelle Goodine.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in the family lot at the Sweet Cemetery, Atkinson. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
