Obituary of Sheldon L. Woodard
Harmony- Sheldon L. Woodard, 76, husband of Donna M. (Lake) Woodard, passed away December 10, 2016, at a Bangor hospital. He was born October 6, 1940, in Parkman, the son of Llewellyn E. and Marion V. Woodard. Sheldon retired from Hardwood Products as a supervisor after many years. He loved hunting and worked tinkering as a mechanic all his life. Sheldon’s life revolved around his family. Some of Sheldon’s most treasured memories were spent at hunting camp in Plymouth with his brother. He served on Guilford Fire Department for many years, and will always be remembered as the type of man who would do absolutely anything for anyone.
In addition to Sheldon’s wife, Donna, he is survived by his mother, Marion Brown of Guilford; son, Stanley Woodard of Harmony; three daughters, Lou-Ann Burgess of Harmony, Shelley Bard of Wellington, and Michelle Merrill and her husband, Eric Howes, of Clinton; four brothers, Marlon Woodard and his wife, Ruby, of Guilford, Donn Woodard of Detroit, Darrell Woodard of Harmony; and Dennis Woodard and his wife, Patsy, of Corinna; two sisters, Lorraine Lambert and her husband, Dave, of Carmel, and Virginia Brown of Sangerville; eight grandchildren, Sheldon Woodard of Harmony, Shawn Woodard of Harmony, Donna J. Woodard of Harmony, Dustin Woodard of Sangerville, Derreck Bard of Wellington, Betsy Merrill of Pittsfield, U.S. Army Veteran Ryan Merrill of Clinton, who Sheldon was very proud of for following in his footsteps, and Ken Thereau of Connecticut; three great-grandchildren, Kassie Barton of Harmony, and Emily and Aubrey Leavitt of Pittsfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Llewellyn Woodard; Father Brown; a brother, Duane Woodard; three sisters, Glendene Woodard, Charlene Brown, and Debrah Brown and his son-in-law, Rick Bard. Sheldon leaves many, many dear friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the Spring at the Lawn Cemetery, Guilford. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Guilford. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.laryfuneral home.com.
