Obituary of William Paul Pingrey
William (Bill) Paul Pingrey, 81, of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, passed away peacefully, March 5, 2024, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. He was born in Buffalo, New York, August 24, 1942, son to Jack Pingrey and Mildred (Belter) Pingrey. Bill graduated Kensington High School in Buffalo New York in 1960. He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a bachelor degree of science and business administration with distinction. He attended the Salvation Army School for Officers Training in 1979 and graduated in 1981. He was in the session of God’s Solider’s in which he was the president of his class. He served in The Salvation Army as an officer from 1981 until he retired in 2008. As a Salvation, Army officer, he had many different appointments as an assistant officer and an officer at The Adult Rehabilitation Centers. Upon retirement Bill attended the Dover-Foxcroft Church of the Nazarene. He taught Sunday school, gave a few sermons and communion services. He is survived by his son, William (Tammy) Pingrey; daughter, Kristin (Brian) Hornback; son, Steve (Paula) Loveless; 8 grandchildren;and 7 great-grandchildren. His parents; wife, Anita Pingrey; and son, William Paul Pingrey Junior, proceed him in death.
