Patricia Mace

Obituary of Patricia B. Mace

Shirley- Born on September 24,1936, as a proud life long Shirley Bogger to Gerald and Angeline (Gagnon) Beckwith Sr, Pat Mace was taken to heaven on December 9th, 2016 in Greenville, ME. She was an avid warrior for the little Shirley Elementary School as both a school board member and private citizen until it was closed. She loved spending time with her family and adored kids, so much so, she started and coached a Shirley softball team for a few years, was a teacher in Willimantic, and organized the Shirley Recreational Center at the town hall for the neighborhood youth. Her caring nature led her to a life of helping the sick and elderly as a CAN as well. She has inspired many with her gentle nature but warrior spirit, often standing up for what she believed in and never backing down, whether the cause was considered lost or not. She loved spending her time working on her many crafty talents, such as knitting, crocheting, ceramics, embroidery, and sewing. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronald (Ronnie) Mace Sr and their children Jeff and Carol Mace Sr. of Shirley, Gerald (Gary) Mace of Shirley, and Ronald and Jessika Mace Jr. of Colorado City, CO. She has been greeted in heaven by their eldest son Stephen Mace, who passed in 2014. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Gerald and Patty Beckwith Jr, her grandchildren, Elizabeth Mace and David Harvey of Warren, Jeff and Andrea Mace Jr of Euless, TX, Marie and Rob Durgin of Dover-Foxcroft, Michael Mace and Deseray LaBlanc of Abbot, Ashley Mace and Collin Miller of Shirley, and Alliya, Elora, Ulayna and Iyla of Colorado City, CO. Last but not least, she is also survived by her four great grand-children, Kaylee and Nathan Durgin, JB and Julianna Mace along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be sent to the Shirley School Playground Project in her honor.
