MILO, Jana Lei St. Louis, 60, passed away on May 20, 2024, in Bangor, after a brief illness. She was born on August 6, 1963, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Caroline Lake and Robert Sawyer Sr. Jana graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1981. She worked for many years as a hairdresser but her most important job came in 2013 when she became a Grammy and was able to take care of her grandchildren. Her favorite title was “Grammy Jana” and her grandchildren were her entire world. Jana loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and best friend, Brittney. She enjoyed the beach, camping with her family and grandchildren, four wheeling, her Debbie and Steve, and meeting up with her chums for their special girls' weekend getaways. She will always be remembered for her fun-loving sense of humor, decorating her whole house for Christmas, and being the best Grammy Jana to her three grandchildren. She is survived by her loving fiancé of 27 years, Arthur Hathorn; her children, Heath St. Louis (Desiree Watson) of Dexter, Sheena St. Louis (Ricky Robshaw Jr) of Bucksport, and Josh Hathorn of Milo; her father, Robert (Joan) Sawyer Sr of Dexter; her siblings, Robert Sawyer Jr. of Kenduskeag, Kathy Bartley (Fran Bartley) of Houlton, and Tammy Sawyer of Guilford; sister-in-law, Becky and Ron Martinof Brownville; brother-in-law, Rolo Hathorn of Brownville; her beloved grandchildren, Trevor Hathorn, and Sadie and Dax St Louis; a special daughter-in-law, Danielle Vafiades; her best friend, Brittney Stone; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and numerous close friends. Family and friends were everything to her. She was predeceased by her mother, grandparents, and a stepson, Michael Dumont. A celebration of life will be held 1PM Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Abbot Town Hall, 133 Main Road.
