Parkman – Gregory Alan Reed, 66, passed away peacefully Friday, May 24, 2024. He was born November 21, 1957, in Bangor, the son Samuel and Betty (Bridge) Reed. Greg was a skilled carpenter and spent more than 40 years in construction between Maine and Nantucket. He was one of the founders of the Burden Memorial Chapel restoration project in Wellington. Greg valued community engagement, serving as a Master Mason, senior steward in Abner Wade Lodge as well as an Anah Shiner. He was also a member of the Parkman Grange. Greg was an avid fisherman; he enjoyed many trips over the years traveling with friends, chasing the thrill of the catch. He appreciated all things outdoors, annual camping trips with his family, hunting, hiking, and exploring the woods of Maine. Greg was very excited to finally shoot a moose the legal way in 2021. His key enjoyments in life were coffee with his daughter, fishing, and happy hour on the porch at camp. Greg’s greatest joy was his daughter and grandsons. He loved to pass knowledge onto others, and the skills of gardening, hunting, fishing, and environmental preservation were pridefully passed down. He was known to say “it’s in the blood” when his grandsons excelled in fishing. Greg was predeceased by his parents and stepfather, Daniel Tarr; twin daughters, Sheena and Shannon; sister, Kimberly (Reed) Partridge; great-niece, Teagan Partridge; nephew, Dylan Reed; and a special cousin he loved dearly, Russell Silva. He is survived by his daughter, Sierra Reed and her sons, Kaden Rollins and Rhett Taylor; Sierra’s partner, Trevor Bradish and his son, Jacoby; special friends and mother of his children, Tracy Gray and her husband, Dana; sister, Rhonda Keyte and her husband, David; brother, Ezra Reed; brother-in-law, Robert Partridge; and many beloved nieces and nephews, and a long list of friends so they are considered family. He will be deeply missed by many. Greg’s family would like to extend gratitude to the medical staff that touched his life throughout the years, as well as a special thanks to Guy Dow for being there for both Greg and his family.
