Obituary of Jane M. Pieriboni
Dover-Foxcroft, Maine – Jane M Pieriboni, 82, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. She leaves behind her companion of 42 years, Sidney Marshall.
Jane was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on May 25, 1942, and was raised in Watertown, CT. She graduated from Sacred Heart, Waterbury, CT and attended Northwestern Connecticut Community College in Winsted, CT. She tried several careers (teaching, banking, business owner, real estate investor), but it was years after she moved to Maine in 1979, that she found her true passion as a professional artist, political activist and organic farmer. She also decided to be the first person ever to raffle off their home, leading to worldwide media attention and becoming a special case study in law schools across the nation, her “fifteen minutes of fame” as she would refer to it.
Jane is predeceased by her parents, Leo and Marjorie (Carroll) Belisle and a sister Marie (Dean) Blade. Besides her companion Sidney, she leaves behind two children Johnaric Pieriboni (Sharon) of Torrington, CT and Anissa Pieriboni of Ocala, FL; unofficially adopted son David “Screwy” Lewis (Kathi) of Dover-Foxcroft, ME; three grandchildren, Jennifer Falestiny of Nokomis FL, Jessica Fieldhouse (Tommy) of Ocala, FL, and Jonathan Brescia (Raquel) of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Mary Shedd (Alton) of Lincoln, ME and Ann Eckert (Steve) of Watertown, CT; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Lisa Laser (Eric),Martha Tartachny (Paul) and Lou Gray. Jane truly adored her family, was a friend to so many and was loved by all.
