Obituary of Carol Ann (Haggan) Worster
Rockwood and Micco, FL - Carol Ann (Haggan) Worster, 80, passed away on June 16, 2024, at home in Micco, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Jackman, Maine ,on December 20, 1943, to Helena (McIntyre) and Ellsworth “Pat” Haggan. She was married to Edward “Punk” Worster, June 27, 1964. He was the love of her life and she of his. They were inseparable. They met in Jackman at a dance then continued to dance together for the next 60 years.
Carol and Ed were blessed with two children, Travis and Tasha. The family had a love of togetherness and all things Maine. Memories of ice fishing on Bigwood Lake, partridge and deer hunting, snowmobiling, and just “taking a ride” in the woods are all held dear.Carol was a loving grandmother. She cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and loved being their “Me-mere”. She always had a treat in her kitchen for them. Brownies, apple crisps, and everyone’s favorite; pumpkin bread which the family renamed “Me-meres bread” as it was a staple of every visit to and from “Me-mere”. She had many friends and was loved by all. Carol was described as “the sweetest lady”, “a great storyteller”, “she loved to laugh”, and “we had so many good times with Carol and Ed”.
Carol was the owner and operator of many small businesses in Jackman and Greenville. From hairdresser to restaurateur to auto parts store operator she would take on any job and succeed. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Jackman. Carol was strong in her faith and devoted to the Catholic Church throughout her life. Carol will always be remembered for her loving hugs, sweet disposition, positive attitude, and strength. Her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved her.
Carol is survived by her adoring husband, Edward Worster; her son, Travis and wife, Joell, of Cape May, NJ; her daughter, Tasha and husband, Jason Vickery, of Portland, ME; Travis’s children, Emily and Toby Worster; and Tasha’s children, Jack, Emma, and David Vickery.
