Mr. Michaud - as I knew him as my principal at H. A. Ladd school in Sebec, 6h grade - was inspired and thoughtful. My older brother was killed in Vietnam in February 1971 - after that tragic death, I began to act out in school - and ended up sent to the principal’s office several times. I was scared to death - and after he gave me a good talking to - he said, “if you come in here again you and I are going to tangle and we are going to tangle good!” I got sent to his office two more times - and each time he told me the same thing. I was probably in my forties before I finally realized that he knew what I was going through and helped me - much more than I ever realized as a twelve year old.
