Devon Strout

Obituary of Devon R. Strout

Milo- Devon R. Strout, 20, went to watch over all of us, December 17, 2016, after a tragic car accident in Virginia. He was born May 8, 1996, in Bangor, the son of David A. and Edwina M. (Lundin) Strout. Devon was serving as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia. He managed to touch more lives in his too short 20+ years than most can hope to accomplish in a lifetime; always there to give a helping hand and live life to the fullest. Devon graduated from Penquis Valley High School, Class of 2014. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Student Council, and a member of the soccer, tennis, baseball, golf, track and field, and basketball teams. Through all of these he motivated and exuded team spirit. After graduation, Devon entered the U.S. Marine Corps where he shined as always being a leader, friend, listening ear, and proud marine. Devon is survived by his loving parents and his little sister, Aileen Strout, who will all remember him as the light of their lives. He was adored by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Sheena Lundin, and paternal grandfather, Clarence Strout. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Edith Strout. Also, mourning his loss are Devon’s Uncle Mike and Aunt Jane, Aunt Cindy and Uncle Randy, Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Lynn, Uncle Peter and Aunt Tracy; cousins, Angie and her husband, Chris, Erika and her husband, J.B., Stephen, Corey, Peter, Bryce, Christopher, and Matthew; Devon’s special little cousins, Piper, Ivy, and Fern; and many other relatives. He has left us all behind to try and adjust to life without him and the comfort we all must find is that he was planned for something better. The family wishes to extend their condolences and appreciation to his Marine Corps family as they loved him and brought him into their families as one of their own. Some of these special brothers and sisters are: Denniston, Porter, Hutton, Rice, Bretz, Gigoda, and Castro, David and Edwina are sorry if they have missed some of these special friends. They, also, wish to send their love to his extra special lady friend, Amber. Devon will be dearly missed by his friends here in Milo that are part of the Strout’s extended family; his phenomenal Class of 2014, and his best friends that enjoyed his favorite place, “The Rips”. Please know that the family would love to list you all but feared they would miss someone special to Devon as there are so many that they have loved and that have always been with him. They hope all his friends remember fondly their times with Devon and continue to share these memories with others. A funeral service will be held 1PM Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Penquis Valley High School, with Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Devon Strout Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Maine Savings Bank, P.O. Box 447, Milo, ME 04463. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
