My husband, Jerry Nadelhaft, was a colleague of Jack's for many years in the History Department. I'm writing on his behalf, because he died recently. We both appreciated Jack's work as a teacher and colleague, but we were especially impressed by his dedication to the Penobscot Marine Museum. We visited several times and were always impressed by special exhibits. I know Jerry appreciated Jack's genial presence in the Department. I send sympathy to you all.

I had a seminar with Dr Battick in late 1970 or early '71. He was a fine teacher, insightful, supportive, funny, knowledgeable. He was part of the reason I was so proud to earn my MA from the UMO Hhstory Dept.
