Rockwood- Norman E. Smith, 83, passed away December 22, 2016, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was born September 9, 1933, in Madison, the son of Clayton and Florence (Foreman) Smith. Norman graduated from Madison High School, Class of 1952, and then joined the United States Army. He enjoyed the time he served while stationed in Germany. Norman worked for many years as a clerk in automobile parts departments, retiring from Frank Galos Chevrolet. He enjoyed sports, fishing, and more recently watching wildlife in his backyard. Norman is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jeanne, of Rockwood; two daughters, Sonia Smith of Portland, and Stephanie Alexander and her husband, Chuck, of Harpswell; two grandchildren, Madison and Sammy Alexander of Harpswell; brother, Richard Smith and his wife, Linda, of Yarmouth; and a brother-in-law, William LeBlanc of Corinth. He was predeceased by his parents, and two daughters, Tammy and Shelly Smith. A celebration of Norman’s life will be announced in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
