Obituary of Adolph B. Mattson
Milo - Adolph B. Mattson, 88, died peacefully February 20, 2017, at his home. He was born August 21, 1928, in Monson, the son of Gunard and Eleanor (Blythen) Mattson. Adolph attended Monson Academy and was a proud Veteran of the Merchant Marines. He will be remembered as a hard working, honest man. Adolph worked for many years in forestry and then moved and worked in New Hampshire and Connecticut as a foreman in the metal industry before retiring in Milo. His hobby was being a HAM Radio operator and he loved working outside in his gardens and mowing his lawn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Rita; daughters, Elaine Breitweiser, Sandra Tomlin her husband, Dana, Carol Reed her husband Bruce; sisters, Hazel Richards and Helen Lunt; grandsons, Everett Reed, Todd Reed and his wife, Laura, and Mattson Tomlin; great-grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Reed; and a very special family friend, Abe Willinski.
A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the United Baptist Church, Milo, with Pastor Phil McGlauflin officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
