Aunt Ruth, Greg, Wendy Carole and family... my deepest sympathy for you loss. Uncle Warner was one of the sweetest, gentlest men I ever knew. Always positive and uplifting. He is at peace now, with Gram, Dad, Uncle Earl, Granps, Chris, Josh, Jason, Earl Rodney, and all that waited with open arms to welcome him home. After reading of Warner's passing, I am so glad to have had the opportunity to visit with him and Ruth last summer in Milo to reminisce on our days with Great Northern. We hadn't seen each other for 38 years. We were wood scalers for Great Northern in the West Branch District and we worked together at the Scott Brook operation for one season in the late 1970's. We talked about our life at the scaler's shack at Scott Brook when we would go to the cook room to have a bowl of ice cream after coming back from an evening of fishing; listening to country music on WFST in Caribou while we traveled the roads to the cutting crews; fly fishing for salmon in the outlet stream of Caucomgomoc Lake and how after school dismissed for the summer, he would stay with Ruth and the kids at their camper trailer by the dam at Caucomgomoc. It was a visit that I have truly cherished. These were memorable times when I enjoyed the company of many fine men but none were any more kind and personable than Warner. Though I will be unable to attend the services, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. May the many memories shared as a family bring you peace in this time of sorrow.
