Obituary of Patricia E. Grant

Sangerville - Patricia E. (Perry) Grant, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep May 3, 2017, at the home of her son.  She was born in West Groton, MA, on August 13, 1930, the daughter of Earl and Grace (Linnell) Perry.  Pat grew up in Hartland and worked in Massachusetts for a year before marrying the love of her life, Carl D. “Kite” Grant, on May 4, 1951. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage and together raised 3 children.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved the home that Kite built for her and lived there for 60 years.  Pat loved to travel, visiting Kentucky, Florida, California, Las Vegas and Arizona to spend time with her family there.  In her later years, Pat enjoyed doing her family history, with the excitement of finding ancestors from Northern Ireland, spending time with her family in Arizona, and watching hours of her favorite program, The Lawrence Welk show.

Pat had a heart of gold and will be missed by her many family members and friends.  She was predeceased by her husband Kite in 2013 and her sister, Kay Friedmann.

Pat is survived by her son Timothy Grant and wife, Cathy, of Casa Grande, AZ, with whom she spent the last several months of her life happily surrounded by family and two little dogs that filled her days with snuggles and kisses. Pat is also survived by her daughter, Nancy Grant of Guilford; her son, Gary Grant and wife, Sheila, of Parkman; and Debrah Curtis whom she thought of as another daughter; grandchildren, TJ Grant and Amanda, Brianne Bosarge and Rusty, Jon Grant and fiancee, Kim, and Rebecca Grant; six great-grandchildren, Alex Ryan, Connor Ryan, Collin Grant, Matthew Grant, Bryan Hain and Kaitlyn Kahn and one great-great grandson, Reid Hain.  She is also survived by a special brother-in-law, Francis Grant and lifelong friends, Barbara Woodard, Roslyn Priest, Gloria Grant and Mary Curtis, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is planned for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Village Cemetery in Sangerville.  Friends are invited to wear something bright in honor of Pat's love of bright colors.  Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home, Guilford. Condolences may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
