Obituary of Beverly J. Jamison
Brownville Jct. – Beverly J. Jamison, 81, wife of the late Paul B. Jamison, passed away June 9, 2017, at Stillwater Health Care, Bangor. She was born April 7, 1936, in Brownville Jct., the daughter of Walter and Ivy (Estes) McClain. A graduate of Brownville Jct. High School, Class of 1953, she graduated from Mount Ida Junior College in the medical assistant program in 1955. She then went on to graduate from the Eastern Maine General Hospital Nursing Program in 1958. Beverly worked as an R.N. in Maine, Louisiana, and Florida. She loved being a nurse.
Beverly was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Brownville Jct. Alumni Association, the Brownville Jct. United Methodist Church, and Order of the Eastern Star. She will be remembered as the “neighborhood nurse” and the “town mom”. She enjoyed her hours spent working with “the girls” at the church thrift shop.
She is survived by a son, Mark W. Jamison and his wife, Penny, of San Antonio, TX; a daughter, Lori J. Turtlott and her husband, Lyle, of LaGrange; granddaughters, Alison and Lindsay Turtlott, whom she loved dearly and was extremely proud of; a niece, Esther Bushway and her husband, Alfred, of Veazie; a cousin, Brian Estes and his wife, Roberta, of Williamsburg, VA; a niece, Lucile Levchuk and her husband, Sam, of Wallingford, CT. She will be remembered by special friends, Nancy and Tom, Mark and Roz, Fran, Marilyn, Carla and Ashley. She loved her home, family, friends and neighbors.
Beverly was predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Paul “Jamie” Jamison; and her brothers, Richard and Robert McClain.
Friends are invited to call 6-8pm Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A funeral service will be conducted 1pm Wednesday, June 14, at the Brownville Jct. United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jonathan Ray officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Pinetree Cemetery, Brownville Jct.
