Obituary of Melissa A. Morrill

Greenville - Melissa A. Morrill, 74, wife of Stephen C. Morrill, Sr., died March 30, 2016, at C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She was born August 18, 1941, in Rockwood, the daughter of Wilfred and Gertrude (King) Theriault. She was a graduate of Greenville High School, Class of 1959, where she was a star basketball player. An avid gardener and cook, she was devoted to her family and was known as “Grammy Peachy” to her grandchildren. She began a long and rewarding career as a waitress at the age of eleven, working at The Birches in Rockwood, the Mount Kineo Hotel, the Cabbage Patch Restaurant in Greenville, and then she was back to The Birches, retiring 4 years ago. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Allen Morrill of Greenville and John Morrill and his wife, Jackie, of New Jersey; three daughters, Helen Morrill of Guilford, Jo Ann Goodwin and her husband, Russ, of New Mexico, and Rose McCool and her husband, Tom, of Texas; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Russell Theriault and his wife, Debby, Donald Theriault and his wife, Linda, and Albert Theriault and his wife, Alice, all of Rockwood. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen C. Morrill, Jr., two brothers and four sisters. A summer graveside service will be held at the family lot in Rockwood Cemetery.
