Obituary of Winifred E. Webber
Abbot – Winifred E. Webber, 82, passed away peacefully June 21, 2017, at her home. She was born November 26, 1934, in Guilford, the daughter of John R. Schultz and Harriet (Chase) Schultz Anderson.
She worked at Hardwood Products in Guilford and Dexter Shoe Co., before co-operating a service station in Guilford and Abbot. She also drove the Abbot-Blanchard school bus route for SAD No. 4. Winnie’s passion was waitressing, and she worked many years at the Gold Nugget Restaurant in Guilford and the Boom Chain Restaurant in Greenville. She enjoyed the many local customers and tourists she met throughout the years, including John Travolta. She ended her working career at Hibbard’s Nursing Home, retiring at the age of 78.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her special AA friends for the last 30 plus years. They were truly her second family. She was devoted to her constant companions, her cats, DiDi and Marie.
She is survived by her four children, Deborah Crocker of Mauldin, SC, Richard Crocker of Abbot, Sheila Williams and her husband, Ronald, of Simpsonville, SC, and Valerie Bourdeau and her husband, Mark, of Terryville, CT; a sister, Barbara Trafton of Abbot; a half-brother, Kenneth North, and a half-sister, Nancy Cauley, both of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Heidi Sudsbury, Jennifer Johnson, Nicholas Crocker, Janine Stadig, Peggy Madore, Renee Sterling, Tyler Williams, Lindsay Bourdeau, and Chelsea Bourdeau; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Schultz.
Winnie’s family extends a special thank-you to the CHCS team for their constant care and support throughout this difficult time.
Friends are invited to call 5-7pm Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A funeral service will be conducted 11am, Wednesday, June 28, at the Abbot Evangelical Free Church, Abbot, with Pastor Rogan Taylor officiating. Following cremation burial will be in the family lot in the Blanchard Cemetery, Abbot. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sarah’s House of Maine, 346 Main Road, Holden 04429.
