I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to the Todd family. For right now, there’s no detour around grief, no shortcut through mourning. However, 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, “...power beyond what is normal “, to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry, or that we forget. It means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28 which says, “...all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out “. Jesus was referring to the resurrection. That is our amazing hope! The Bible likens our hope to an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, our hope stabilizes us and keeps us from drowning in overwhelming sadness. 2 Cor. 1:3 describes our Creator as, “...the God of all comfort “. One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now, during this time of sorrow. Bobby was such a great soul, inside and out. Not only was I blessed to spend holidays with the family, I was blessed to hear all of the incredibly funny "uncle Bobby" stories from childhood. I will always have a special place in my heart for Bobby. I first began to know him as one of his high school teachers. Although school was difficult, Bobby persevered and went on to become an incredible young man who obviously was devoted to Cori and his family and friends. It warmed my heart to see how happy he was. His awesome smile and exuberance for life are the most precious gifts to our community. I knew Bobby best when he was a little boy. Although we lived in the same small community, I didn't see him out and about as much as I saw Cori. I am so saddened by his passing, as he was too young and it was so sudden. He was a good little boy when I knew him, and he was a good man in his adult life. What can I say my friend? We had several laughs over the years. You are missed by so many, a void we will never fill. What I would give to hear you shout "flag" this winter on Sebec and to hear your hunting stories. Monson will never be the same. You did your part my friend, you provided for so many. You Rest In Peace my friend, I will set an ice trap for you each time I go fishing. Also I'll never forget the time you jumped on the kids snow tube at camp and slid down the trail. I big brute on a small tube at 30 mph was a site to see. Take it easy on the wildlife in the big pasture. Miss you buddy. Miss you.
