Obituary of Isabelle Louise Newman Roberts

Milo and Lake View Plantation- Heaven received a Christmas Angel when Isabelle Louise Newman Roberts, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday December 25, 2017.  She was born November 7, 1934, at her grandparents house in Milo, Maine, to the late George "Pat" and Gladys (Goodine) Newman.  She grew up in her beloved Lake View Plantation, overlooking Schoodic Lake and Mount Katahdin.

She joined the U.S. Army after high school as a Dental Hygienist.  She served in Paris, France during the Korean Conflict and later in Colorado where she met the love of her life, William (Bill) O.  Roberts. She left the Army when they married. They started and grew their family, as Bill continued his career in the Army.   They lived in Germany, Washington, Okinawa, South Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, and back to Germany, before settling in Maine.   When her husband passed away young, she worked at Guilford Industries to help support her family.  She collected many special clocks and beautiful crystal pieces in her travels.   She loved gardening, quilting, sewing, crocheting, cooking, genealogy research, spending time with family and walking her dog Reesie. She contributed to several history books about Lake View Plantation.    The roles she was most proud of were daughter, wife, Mom, Grammie, sister, and Veteran.

She was a strong and sweet lady who will be dearly missed by the many people whose lives she touched, especially her children, William (Billy) P. Roberts and his wife Corinne,  Michelle Blanchard and her husband Barry,  Linda Roberts and her husband Art Hassencahl, and Nanette Kroemer; grandchildren, Kaylynn Roberts, Jamie Reyna, Brandy Hunt, Michael Blanchard, Forest Blanchard, Emma Kroemer, and Emily Blanchard; great grandchildren, Sebastian, Kraise, Ewan, Rebekah, Skyler and Sawyer; brother, Linwood Newman; nephew, Ted Newman; special niece, Reney Newman McAtee;  special cousins, who were like sisters to her, Ethelyn Ellis, and Ruth (Eleanor) Cyr; a special aunt, Mildred (Millie) Newman Perry; and many cousins.   In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband; daughter, Ilese Marie; half-brother, Philip Newman; special cousin, Charlene Robichaud; and dear friend, Tom Oechslie.
