Obituary of Helen A. Cobb
Brownville Junction- Helen A. Cobb, 97, wife of the late Donald S. Cobb, passed away January 20, 2018, with family by her side at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born September 4, 1920, in Brownville Junction, the daughter of James H. and Lottie (Green) Fletcher. A graduate of Brownville Junction High School, Class of 1938, Helen married Donald in 1940, and they had 69 wonderful years together. Helen was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also a devoted and faithful member of the Brownville Junction United Methodist Church for about 80 years where she belonged to the ladies circles and enjoyed working in the kitchen for fundraisers. She was also active in the BJHS Alumni Association and the Brownville Junction Service Club. Helen enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at camp at Schoodic Lake for many years. It was a place for the family to gather.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Donna Morrill and her husband, Larry, of Brownville Junction; a special sister-in-law, Shirley Fletcher; three grandchildren, Jill Cobb and her partner, Susan Bray, Donald Cobb, and Amy Morrison and her husband, Wayne; seven great-grandchildren, Chase Cobb, Kyle Cobb, Brian Cobb, Alexander Morrison, Benjamin Morrison, Kiran Morrill, and Lauren Morrill; two special nieces, Diane and Nancy; and several other nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by a special family friend, P.J. Shomers. Helen was predeceased by her son, Harold "Sonny" Cobb; daughter-in-law, Judy Shomers; brothers, Danny, Jimmy, and George Fletcher; sisters, Hazel Foran and Etta Packard; and grandson, Jamie Morrill.
Graveside services for both Donald and Helen will be held in the spring at the Pine Tree Cemetery, Brownville Junction. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
