Obituary of Marilyn M. Cameron

 

  

Dover-Foxcroft – Marilyn M. Cameron, 83, wife of the late John Patrick Cameron, passed away February 9, 2018, in Milo, at the joyous and loving home of Cathy Mello and Richard Olmstead.  She was born March 1, 1934, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Harold A. and Avis J. (Doore) Mayhew.  A member of the first class to graduate from the new Foxcroft Academy building, Marilyn graduated in 1952, and later received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maine, Orono. 

  

Marilyn worked for over 30 years as the county director for Penquis CAP. She was a member and past officer of the American Legion in Dover-Foxcroft and served her community through teaching with Literacy Volunteers, and volunteering many hours for Meals for ME.  She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church in Dover-Foxcroft, where she served as pianist and on several committees over the years. She also taught piano to many students in the Dover-Foxcroft area. 

  

Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Lynne Libby and her partner, Eugene Bergeron, and Julie Wiegleb and her husband, Paul; two step-daughters, Rachel Wright and Diane Cameron; a sister, Eileen Carr; a brother, Steven Mayhew; and a special cousin and friend, Colleen Jipson. She is also survived by numerous friends and the caring hearts of many who aided in her well-being.  

 

A memorial service will be conducted 2 pm, February 17, 2018, followed by a celebration of Marilyn’s life, all at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery.
