Ronald F. Coates was a wonderful man; talented, funny and upbeat. He was my father-in-law and is deeply missed, still now after two years. He was also the proud father of 9 children; James, Mark, Ronald, Leona, Donald, Bill, John, Gregory and Jennifer. He also has numerous grandchildren, as his continuing legacy. Condolences to Margie and her family for his loss. We are grateful for the love given to him through his final years. May God bless.

Memories. So many memories of this great man. He showed me how important Uncles are in a young boys life. Uncle Ronnie propped me on his gas tank and my Mom allowed a motorcycle ride. I was maybe 4 or 5 and he kept me safe on the ride. We stopped at a red light and I pointed out a "Dead Kunk" on the side on the road, he never forgot it and the last time we saw each other he talked of it and we laughed. I was 48 years old then. Uncle Ronnie along with his Brothers doted on their sister My Mom Sis' and they loved all 6 of her kids. Uncle Ronnie seemed like Disney and a Aleppo parade all rolled into one. He could entertain us kids with songs and then show off his animal balloon making skills. He was the best. Above all he showed what a Uncles love is all about and I kept that with me as my Brothers and Sisters had their families grow. I will miss Uncle Ronnie and I hold in my Heart the day we will see each other again. He is home. I Love you Uncle Ronnie.

Uncle Ronnie had a way of making you feel special. We didn't get to see each other often, but when we did, I felt cherished. He had an awesome attitude about life and you couldn't help but get caught up in that when you were with him. I know he's up there with my Dad, Uncle Ralph and Aunt Millie and Uncle Bob. They were such a fun and loving group when they were together, and I'm sure they are entertaining everyone in Heaven.... RIP Uncle Ronnie. You will be missed but will live as an endearing memory for the rest of my life.

I got to know Ron through his visits to St. Joseph Hospital. He would always stop by the information desk and play us a song on his mouth harmonica for us. We finally made arrangements to have him entertain in the main lobby of the hospital. He showed up with his banjo, harmonica and stool that light up and a horn has been attached to it. What a performance! Everyone that walked through the lobby that hour couldn't help but smile. Many stopped and listened and even danced. We were lucky to have Ron return a few more times. I will remember most his passion for making people happy.
Please accept my sincere condolence for your loss.

Dear Marjorie,
"Banjo Ron" was one of a kind. I always enjoyed hearing him speak to our group--and his always present music with the mini-harmonica. May he rest in peace. My thoughts are with you and your family. Most sincerely, Ginger

I'll always remember Ron for the good times playing music, and more, as a life-long friend. I was fortunate to have met Ronnie early in my musical career and played many memorable gigs over the years. I'll miss his warmth, the way he connected with an audience, and his sense of humor. Ron was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.
