Ellen, thank you for picking me to be your camping companion across the United States the year I graduated from Windsor High School in 1969. You gave me a wonderful experience that I probably would not of ever had except for this special trip. Thank you for showing me some of the beautiful sights America has.
Thank you for being one of my teachers and getting me interested in family genealogy. You were a great friend.
May you rest in peace.

Ellen, was a 1st cousin to my Mom, Evelyn. She was the most traveled woman I knew growing up. What energy and positive vibrations she created. I always knew that her house had been one of the places that the Dow Reunion was held at. She was dedicated to family and friends. We always stopped to visit when we made our trip to Maine. Two years ago she wasn't there. She will always be missed until we see her again in heaven.

My sincere condolences to your family. My Great Aunt Evelyn Weston was a good friend of Ellen's. I remember as a child getting to spend a day with Ellen while Aunt Evie was at work. I still remember being in awe of her talent with crafts! She was amazing.

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, when my brothers and I were 8 or 10, Ellen would visit us at our home in southern Connecticut on her way to teach in Colorado, after spending the summer in Maine. We enjoyed her visits greatly, as she was always so chipper and fun. We spent many evenings staying up late to finish a game of Monopoly or a jigsaw puzzle, telling stories and laughing well into the night. Rest peacefully Ellen.

We always enjoyed our talks with Ellen and appreciated her and her interest in quilting and gardening and so many things.
Love to Ellen from Andrea, Bill, Kate, and Nick Ostrofsky
