Debbie and Tammy....I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. I have so many memories of him, much more than can be placed on a page. I will speak to just one of the many fond memories I have of him. When I first started skiing at Squaw Mountain your dad watched me go down the slope. He came over to me on the next run and all the way down he said, " try this". I never actually paid for any lessons, he just helped me because he wanted to. Your father was the most graceful person to ever put on a pair of skis. I can remember just watching him numerous times learning, yet awed at his grace. The greatest compliment I ever got skiing was when someone told me I skied like Earl Thompson. I simply said thank you as that is what your dad would of said. He was a very humble man in his greatness. I was honored to be able to call him my friend.
He was a wonderful and giving man. I hope you can hold the many memories you have of him and the love you shared while he was alive to help you ease some of the pain you have during this very difficult time. Goodbye Earl. You taught me so much. I have so much respect and love for you. My love and prayers to you Debbie and Tammy. Rod Layman....California
