Obituary of Frances M. Packard

Dover-Foxcroft – Frances M. Packard, formerly of Willimantic, passed away April 13, 2019, at Pleasant Meadows Assisted Living Care Facility.  She was born August 17, 1922, in Westbrook, the daughter of Leon and Ruth (Bragdon) Meserve.  Her late husband, Bruce Packard, passed away in April, 2002. She worked at the Portland, ME shipyard during World War II and resided there as well as in Westbrook and South Gorham. She also worked for the Eastern Area Task Force on Aging during the 1980’s. She attended the Willimantic Community Baptist Church for many years. Her hobbies revolved around nature and included fishing, gardening, and hunting.

Frances is survived by a son, Alan Packard of Wells River, VT; a daughter, Mary Jacobs, of Westbrook; a sister, Helen Knapp, of Portland; two grandchildren, Lori Goodreau of Guilford and Christopher Roast of Paris, ME; a sister-in-law, Eila Packard of Brewer; and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be a private burial at the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Willimantic, at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
