Obituary of David C. Douglas
Milford, NH - David Charles Douglas, 63 years old, passed away suddenly on June 4, 2019. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 25, 1955 to loving parents, Richard and Elizabeth Douglas. While growing up he had fond memories of helping his parents with the Amherst Flea Market. In 1975, David married the love of his life, Ann. Together they lived for over 30 years in Santa Barbara, California raising their two sons and where he worked for the Raytheon Corporation Missile Systems Assembly Division. Throughout his life, David appreciated family and enjoyed traveling. He followed in his father’s footsteps as a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge. Additionally, he was an avid historian and relished in participating as a Major in numerous Civil War Reenactments. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends as a kindhearted, friendly person. His cowboy hat, generous heart, and endless stories will truly be missed.
He lived the final years of his life in New Hampshire, where he found love with his new bride, Robyn Douglas (Johnson). Although their time together was brief, they enjoyed dancing, laughing, and planning a future together.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann, and sister, Lisa Tate (wife of Kelvin Tate). He is survived by his family Andrew and Maryann Douglas, Steven and Erica Douglas; step-children Mariah LaPlume, Marissa Courtemarche, and Dalton Courtemarche; grandchildren Valerie, Alarik, Luca, Lucie and Josiah.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 17th from 5-7PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH with a Masonic Service at 6:30PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM, Thursday, June 20th at St. Joseph’s Mission Catholic Church in Rockwood. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rockwood.
