Obituary of Bruce R. Jennison

 

 

 

Shirley, Maine – Bruce "Gramps" R. Jennison, 63, passed away June 29, 2019, at his home. He was born April 29, 1956, in Exeter, New Hampshire, the son of Robert E. and Louise (Meattey) Jennison. Bruce attended high school at Oyster River High School in Durham, New Hampshire. He worked construction as a heavy equipment operator for many years for Bob J’s Construction. After moving to Maine, he continued to work in construction for Hanson Landworks.  Bruce had a passion for racing. He raced, worked in pit crews, watched all racing on television, and since being in Maine has been a big part of the West Cove Ice Racing Association. Bruce also enjoyed dancing, snowmobiling, and working in his “Man Cave”.

 

Bruce is survived by his long time partner, Barbara LaPointe of Shirley, Maine; his daughter, Christie Johnson and her partner, Josh Morris, of Barnstead, New Hampshire; two sisters, Charlene Jennison Coe and her husband, Philip, and Kathleen Hraba and her husband, John, all of Georgia; his niece, Andrea Landers and her husband, Ryan, and their son, Caleb, all of Georgia; two nephews, Brian Espie and his wife, Michelle, of Bermuda, and Alex Coe of Georgia; great-nephew, Evan Coe of Georgia and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He will be deeply missed by Barbara’s children, Bill LaPointe of Saco, Maine, Angela LaPointe and her daughter, Summer, of Greenville, Maine, and Mellissa LaPointe of Scarborough, Maine. Bruce was predeceased by his parents, and his nephew, Allen Coe.

 

A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held 3PM Saturday, July 20, 2019, at the West Cove Lounge, Greenville Junction, Maine. At a later date, burial will be in the family lot in the Lee Hill Cemetery, Lee, New Hampshire. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
