Auntie Carol, Michael and Lisa - I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Gus. I have so many great memories of him. (I think most revolve around his sweet tooth) taking all of us to the drugstore for ice cream when we were little, sitting around Grandma and Grampa’s table, and everywhere in between. His kind smile and giggle will be missed. Love you!

Our hearts are heavy with the passing of such a wonderful man everyone knew as GUS.
Carol, Lisa and Mike our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to you all.
His laughter, his humor, his jokes and stories of the Red Sox Baseball team and how to swing that golf club will never be forgotten. He lived by his words of being kind, caring, loving and an all around beautiful human being to everyone who crossed his paths.
May his angel wings wrap around you for comfort and strength during this difficult time. We know a big hole is in the Greenville Community with his passing. His spirit will always be here.
Thank you for sharing your husband and dad with everyone. You were truly blessed to have him.
Our sympathies,
Bruce and Georgine Butman

My sincerest condolences to the family of Mr Harris. I call him that because as a young boy (I am 57) I remember my mother talking with Gussie while I sat at the counter cherishing my orange soda. They used to have great conversations! I know this because long after my soda was gone I was reading Sgt Rock comic books waiting for them to finish. I think they probably talked about the Red Sox, and other matters of real importance.
Even though I haven't been back to Greenville much, I am indebted to Gussie and the whole Rexall Drug store (and ice cream stand, of course!) family. I know my mom had genuine friends there, and that was very important because of the tough times she lived though in Greenville. I'm sure they are back to talking about Greenville and the Red Sox right now. And that makes me smile - again, after all these years!
