Bangor and Brownville Junction – Andrew J. Purdue, 42, passed away unexpectedly March 8, 2020, as the result of a snowmobile accident. He was born February 23, 1978, in Bangor, the son of Sharon (Rhoda) and Ronald E. Purdue. Andrew grew up with a wonderful neighborhood gang, with Little League being the highlight of his days. He enjoyed baseball, basketball and motorsports, especially snowmobiles and dirt bikes. He had a big warm heart, unfailing honesty, and a wicked sense of humor. In spite of the disabling challenges of schizophrenia that marred his adulthood, he will be remembered as a big teddy bear who loved to make people laugh. Andrew is survived by his mother, Sharon Purdue of Brooksville; father, Ron Purdue and his wife, Johanna, of Brownville Junction; brother, Joseph Purdue and his fiancée, Jenifer, of Milo; nieces and nephew, Mercedes, Sierra, and Dakota; uncle, Richard White and his wife, Rose, of Schoodic Lake; aunts, Cathy Wallace of Brownville Junction, and Frances Douglas and her husband, Bill, of Florida; and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Marian and Fred Rhoda, and Kenneth and Wanda Purdue; and uncles, Tom Wallace and Ronald White. A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held 2-4PM Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A graveside memorial service will be held 1PM Friday, June 12, 2020, in the family lot at Pine Tree Cemetery, Brownville Junction. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
